Good Reading For The Road

Friday, 9 April 2010 12:48 by Team Elledge
  Tammy Wynette and George Jones

Well, it's been another week of living on the road for Team Elledge as we started off in Chicago, headed south to Dallas, hopped over to Washington D.C. and finally found ourselves back in Chicago this afternoon.  Dallas and D.C . were both filled with great food and even better people, and we couldn't be happier with the way this project is turning out.

While traveling for work doesn't always allow for much time to catch up on reading, occasionally a flight or two will let us make a tiny dent in our reading lists.  James is currently reading Kurt Vonnegut's Welcome To The Monkey House, Leasha is enjoying Paulo Coelho's Brida, and Paul has been totally wrapped up in Jimmy McDonough's biography of Tammy Wynette, Tragic Country Queen.

We here at Team Elledge love classic country music, and Tammy Wynette is easily one of the greatest country singers who ever lived.  Her incredible voice is accompanied by an incredible story that literally has to be read to be believed.  If you are a fan of music, or even just a fan of a really good (real!) story, you should check it out.

Next week will see us heading to Detroit, and Tammy will definitely be providing some of our soundtrack on the way over to visit our Michigan neighbors.  If you have some road reading (or listening) to recommend, feel free to drop us a line via our "Contact" link up at the top of this page.
