Surprise!

Friday, 25 June 2010 13:23 by Team Elledge

Paul is surprised to already be photographing Lucia's 18th birthday.

This week has held more than a few surprises for us here at Team Elledge, so we thought we would share a few with you:

Paul and Leasha's beloved Italy was knocked out of the World Cup!

More surprising than Italy's loss was the fact that the U.S. team advanced!

We shot a job this week with the new(ish) Phase 65+ back, and we were actually able to shoot (reasonably) fast with it! The CaptureOne software and the backs have come a long way...

Turns out that even tornadoes find Chicago a lovely place to come visit in the summer!

The display on Apple's new iPhone 4 is so dense, individual pixels can't be distinguished by the naked eye! Yet another reason Paul must have one now.

Burger diplomacy works! Apparently Obama thinks Ray's Hell Burger is the best place to feed a hungry Russian president and discuss world affairs.

General McChrystal learns the hard way to heed the words we at the studio live by: if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all!

And finally, a YouTube video that is truly a surprise almost 30 years later. No one at the studio can resist the Pickle Surprise! Check it out!

The Whole World Is Watching

Tuesday, 15 June 2010 14:44 by Team Elledge

Paul shot these home made futbols in Rwanda

We here at Team Elledge are no exception when it comes to enjoying the "beautiful game" of futbol. While we are busy enough (knock on wood) that we are not able to catch many games live, we are definitely keeping track of the matches and rooting for our respective teams. Paul and Leasha are, of course, cheering on Italy, while James is pulling (predictably) for underdog Cote d'Ivoire and our newest team member, John, favors Brazil.  Paul actually happened to be in Italy during the last World Cup, and he thoroughly enjoyed getting to experience this global event in a foreign country!

If you happen to be unfamiliar with the World Cup, we thought that this commercial starring some of the best players in the world ought to get you pretty excited!

Keys To The City

Thursday, 10 June 2010 13:37 by Team Elledge
Paul shot this picture of Al in a Blackhawks jersey while on tour with Ministry

The Blackhawks returned to Chicago this morning with a hero's welcome after winning a little thing called the Stanley Cup and Team Elledge couldn't be prouder.  As huge fans of the team since the dawn of man, we're all feeling pretty good about being Chicagoans today.  Way to go Blackhawks!

We're also huge fans of a little band you may have heard of named Ministry.  Fun fact: front man Al Jourgensen is also a Blackhawks admirer and even wrote the Blackhawks' theme song, "Keys To The City."  We're not sure, but we're guessing that this might make the Blackhawks the only professional sports team to have a theme song written by an industrial music superstar.  Neat.

Judging Others

Wednesday, 2 June 2010 11:13 by Team Elledge

Paul has been invited by the Art Director's Club of Denver to judge their 2010 annual show.  He will be flying out in June to take part in the event, and as an introduction to the members of the ADCD, he was interviewed via Skype.  The video was then edited down by the ADCD and the end result is the footage you are seeing here.

While Paul has participated as a judge in many different competitions around the globe, this will be his first in Denver, so he is definitely excited to be a part of the event!
