Moving Right Along

Wednesday, 26 August 2009 13:30 by Team Elledge

Some people might not know that Paul has shot motion almost as long as he has shot stills.  He has directed award-winning rock and roll videos, prime-time airing commercials and a myriad of personal projects.  Recently, our friend Sam Rosen asked Paul to shoot some images at a birthday party he was throwing for himself (throwing parties for yourself is very right now).  Paul and Team Elledge (along with the entire Post Family and a few extra helpers) installed a photo booth in the Post Family space.  After Sam's party he collaborated with Mike Ruggirello to create this piece that you now see on our blog.  We hope you like it!

And speaking of motion, the Indy Moto GP is here!  This upcoming weekend, Moto GP fans and racers from around the world will be convening in our backyard (Indianapolis) for what is sure to be an amazing event.  With only six races left on the GP calendar, every podium is critical to the racers who are chasing this year's title.  In addition to the actual Moto GP race, there will be several other races and exhibitions, the most interesting of which may be the Indy Mile - a mile long flat track race where the riders go over 100 mph on clay!  If that's not exciting, we're not sure what is...

If you're going to be heading to Indy this weekend, drop us a line through our Contact section up top, and we'll try to touch base!

Ozzie Guillen

  Paul and Leasha with Ozzie

It just wouldn't be summer without some baseball, and while we have been too busy to make it to the ballpark, we were lucky enough to have Ozzie Guillen drop by the studio.  He was taking part in a project we have been working on with Don Pogany over at Sticky.  It is an awareness effort for Smile Train - a non-profit dedicated to helping children with cleft pallets receive corrective surgery.

In other news, Paul and Leasha have been printing like mad recently in preparation for their upcoming opening at the Post Family on September 11.  James and Brian have both been working hard to keep the printers rolling, and our friend Steve Behen from Imaging Spectrum in Texas has become the "5th Beatle" of sorts for the studio, as he has been managing to keep up with all of our paper and ink orders (without which we would be stuck!).  So, just for this week, we are elevating Steve to "Honorary Member" of Team Elledge.  Well done, Steve!

Back In The U.S. of A. (and a site update)

Paul returned on Sunday from a week of teaching in Italy, and in true Elledge style he headed straight from the airport to the studio to join the rest of Team Elledge in prepping for our shoots this week.  Between various location shoots and a day in the studio, we are already moving through August at a pretty fast rate!

On his last day in Italy, Paul noticed that three of the assistants had dressed - unbeknownst to each other - in the colors of the Italian flag!  It was too good of a moment to pass up, and the resulting image is the one you see attached to this blog posting.

We have been saying for some time now that we want to keep people informed of things that we like, and as of today we are adding a section to this blog (on the left-hand side) entitled, "We Recommend," that features links to things that we think are worth checking out.  We realize that the internet is a vast web of time-wasting links, so we have gone out of our way to verify that the links we provide are top-notch.  You can send us a message via our "Contact" page and let us know what you think.

Enjoy!
